Chemicals; fire-extinguishing by foam; portable pressure reservoirs.-A method of producing foam consists in super-saturating with carbon dioxide or other gas under pressure a foam-generating liquid, such as saponin solution, in a closed container, and sealing the container. When the seal, for example, a cock, is opened the effervescence of the liberated gas produces the foam which is discharged from the container. Soluble or insoluble substances may be added to the foam generator to assist in the absorption or liberation of the gas.
