Abstract
299,058. British Celanese, Ltd., (Assignees of Platt, H., and Croft, C. M.). Oct. 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Liquids, treating with.-Fabrics consisting of or containing thermo-plastic or organic derivatives of cellulose such as cellulose acetate, formate, propionate, or butyrate, or methyl, ethyl, or benzyl cellulose are treated by introducing an aluminium radicle, as the sole metallic radicle, in the form of an aqueous solution of an asuminium sadt whereby they may be ironed at a higher temperature without the iron sticking to them. The treating solution may contain basic aluminium acetate together with acetic acid or ammonium sulphocyanide. The treatment renders the fabrics waterproof.
