Abstract
298,228. Stoeckicht, W. Oct. 7, 1927, [Convention date]. Toothed gearing.-In epicyclic toothed gearing of the kind in which bevel gears a on aligned shafts W1, W2 are engaged by planetary pinions b, the pinions are retained in position by rings c, d secured on the gears, as described in Specification 287,423, the rings permitting the pinions, which are carried on studs f on a floating carrier g, to adjust themselves to provide for uniform distribution of the tooth pressures. The use of both the rings c and the rings d is desirable where the bevel wheels have inclined or arcuate teeth, but the rings c alone are sufficient when the teeth are straight. The wheels a may differ in size.
