Tooth pressures in a double row epicyclic gear are equalized by two ring gears 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>11</SP> supported for relative rotation in an annulus 3, one ring gear 5<SP>11</SP> having radial freedom 8 in the annulus and the two ring gears being connected to the annulus by an equalizing lever 10. The lever 10 is connected to the ring gears by ball and sliding block joints. The gear teeth may be straight spur, helical or double helical and the planet pinions may be separate or integral. Specification 983,624 is referred to.
