Abstract

297,615. Myers, M., and Needleman, P. Jan. 4, 1928. Keyholes, obstructing; latches, sliding; locking sliding latches; lock mechanism, lever-type; multiple-bolt fastenings.-A number of door bolts A are simultaneously operated by a keyoperated bolt of a lock J. The tail I of the lock bolt projects from the block casing and has a plate K with inclined cam slots engaging pins with antifriction rollers R carried by a pair of slidable rods G, G<1>, the other ends of these rods having similar cam-plates 0 adapted to operate, pairs of bolt-rods A. In a modification, Fig. 1<a>, the bolts A have integral supplementary bolts A<1> and the plates 0 carry multiple bolts A<2> as shown. The mechanism of the lock J, described in detail, is identical with that described in Specification 297,614 and includes a spring-shot latch bolt normally free for withdrawal by a handle-operated spindle v, an internal key-operated bolt for locking the latch in shot position, the tail I of this bolt projecting as shown, and means for obstructing the keyhole and for preventing ready access thereto from the outside of the door, this means being operable by the key used to operate the lock.
