Coating bakers' and confectioners' goods.- The coating mechanism of the machine described in the parent Specification is cleaned, e.g. to allow the colour of the coating material to be changed, by detaching the frames 8, 8<1> and the associated moving parts, as a unit, from the machine base, and placing it in a hot water tank 53 in which it is so positioned that the gear wheel 16 on the shaft 19<111> engages a pinion 55 in the tank revolved by a hand-wheel 56 or by power. The coating mechanism thus moves as if in operation and is readily cleaned. The apparatus is cooled by replacing the hot water with cold water.
