Variable-speed friction gearing.-The friction discs F, H of a variable-speed mechanism are slidably keyed on shafts f<1>, h<1> and are pressed by springs f<5>, h<4> against the transmission wheel R. The motor drives the shaft h<1>; the shaft f<1> drives a governor. Balance wheels I are provided to relieve the strain on the discs.
