Abstract

295,912. Morrell, A., and Aykroyd, H. E. March 6, 1928. Stationary-cutter machines. -A device for splitting fabric woven with a weftless portion has a knife K mounted on a carriage supported by antifriction bearings C' on fixed guides C<2>, C<3>. Thrust rollers C<4> are fitted. The fabric is drawn under tension past the knife K and the split portions are separated by a guide G. In a modification the web is cut after passing over a laterally movable guide roller. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 300,354.
