Abstract

294,372. Simonides, B., and Giesserei & Maschinenfabrik Oggersheim P. Sch³tze & Co. Akt.-Ges. July 20, 1927. Drying clothes. - An internally-heated mould for ironing, shaping, and drying stockings is provided with a central supply pipe 5, Fig. 3, built into the mould and opening at its upper end into two channels 6, 7 formed between the pipe and the walls of the mould for conducting the heating fluid downwards to a fluid chamber connected to a heater. The end 12 of the wall of the mould is formed into a pocket-like depression 14 which is corrugated and provided with a projecting edge 15 to receive a detachable foot portion 16. The foot is perforated at 17 and provided with a partition projecting into the pocket 14. The moulds are made of sheet iron, aluminium, or copper and are fitted on to a table 2 provided with means for circulating steam or hot air through openings 8 into the mould, the exhaust passing through openings 11. Heating-tables are described in which steam and hot air are employed, the air being heated by an electrical resistance or by tubes heated internally by oil burners. When hot air is employed, it is circulated past the heating means and through the formers by circulating fans.
