Abstract
737,990. Heat - exchangers. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA MASKINVERKEN. Sept. 19, 1950 [Sept. 19, 1949], No. 17739/54. Divided out of 737,911. Class 64 (3). Additional heating surface is provided on one or both sides of a heat-exchanging wall by a plurality of metal pins 14 each bent to U-form, one leg of each pin being secured, e.g. by welding or soldering, to the wall surface and the other leg being directed towards that wall surface. The pins which are preferably arranged in rows, may extend from both sides of the wall and on one side of the wall may be straight as shown at 14a in Figs. 23, 24. Alternatively, the pins on both sides of the wall may be curved. Fig. 1 shows an oil heater comprising concentric tubes 1, 2 in the space between which oil is circulated from an inlet 9 to an outlet 10, to be heated by steam which enters the inner tube through pipe 12, condensate being removed at 13. The pins 14 may be made of copper or aluminium.
