Abstract

294,316. Stechmann, G. H. May 16, 1927. Float valves. - A safety cut off device for water pipes comprises a chamber c of substantially circular cross section and of uniform diameter throughout its length containing a float f of wood or hollow metal. The inlet a and outlet b are in axial alignment so that when the supply is re-established the float is pressed against the outlet to prevent waste of water. A push g may be provided to unseat the float or the cap d may be removed and the float unseated by the finger. When under normal conditions the conduit is full of water the float rises to the dotted position to permit an unrestricted flow.
