Valves, application of. - A drinking-trough is connected in circuit with the supply main u, Fig. 1, by means of a T-piece s fitted with a valve i operated by a spindle t so that the water supply to the nose-plate-operated valve v through the tubular member k may be cut off without impeding the flow of water through the supply pipe to other troughs. The outlet for the water into the trough is directed downwardly against the rear wall of the trough b so that splashing and noise is prevented. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the T-piece s is provided with an annular space r opening into the tube k and water flows from the supply pipe into this space through an opening d which may be closed by a valve i.
