Abstract

292,686. Toplis, A. R., and Hyatt & Co., Ltd., J. March 23, 1927, Drawer-and-shell boxes; tampering with, preventing and detecting.-The drawer of a drawer. and-shell box is locked against withdrawal from its shell by two spring stops projecting from the underside of the top of the shell into the path of the end walls of the drawer. As shown the stops are formed by a tongue 7 of cardboard &c. stapled to the shell and scored along transverse lines 11, 12 to form hinged flaps 9, 10 which are folded between the tongue and the shell and, after the shell has been inserted in the drawer, act like springs to force, the tongue downwards to form abutments for the end walls 13, 14 of the shell and prevent its withdrawal. The shell may be perforated along one of its marginal edges 15 to facilitate opening it.
