Abstract

Timing.-Epicyclic, bevel or spur gearing between the driving shaft and that of one or more magnetos is variable for adjusting the time of ignition. An internally and externally toothed wheel b, Fig. 1, is in gear with the driving pinion a and with planetary pinions c which also engage a sun pinion d on the magneto shaft. The cage e in which the pinions c are mounted is adjustable either directly by a lever g' or through the medium of a, pinion f. In a modification the cage F carrying the bevel wheel D of a differential gearing is rotatable, by a lever Z, or the bevel-wheel D may be replaced by a pair of spur wheels.
