Treatment of material to facilitate drying.-In a refrigerating process applicable to the freezing of wet solids such as peat to facilitate separation of the water, the wet solids are conveyed through a freezing chamber and then through a chamber around the condenser of the refrigerating plant, where the ice serves as a cooling-medium and is thawed out. The air of the freezing and condenser chambers may be circulated by fans around the peat and .the respective coils.
