Abstract

Preparations containing material having antipernicious an mia activity are obtained by subjecting a suitable microbiological medium, preferably one on or in which Streptomyces Griseus has been cultured, to the action of heat in the presence of water so as to liberate the free active material from the complex, and separating the active material from the remaining mixture. The complex may be separated from the medium by precipitation with ammonium sulphate. The heat treatment may be effected at temperatures above 80 DEG C., preferably above 90 DEG C., to the boiling-point of the medium at atmospheric pressure. Detailed examples are given.
