Abstract

Neomycin is produced by culturing a neomycin-producing strain of streptomyces flavo-albus on or in a nutrient therefor under aerobic conditions. A strain of this new species has been deposited at the State Hygienic Institute of Budapest under the No. 601,205.1. Cultivation is preferably at a temperature of 24 to 31 DEG C. The antibiotic may be isolated by known methods.
