PURPOSE: To prepare an antibiotic substance, verdamicin by culturing Micromonospora cyaneogranulata.
CONSTITUTION: Verdamicin-producing bacteria belonging to Micromonospora cyaneogranulata, e.g. A10030 strain (FERM-P No.4276), are cultured in a medium, and verdamicin is separated from the medium. The culturing is pref. carried out in an aerated deep-tank fermentor, at 26W32°C for 3W5 days. Verdamicin is also produced by culturing Micromonospora grisea.
