Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a novel weakly basic oligosaccharide amylostatin having an amylase inhibitory action, by culturing microorganisms belonging to the genus Streptomyces.
CONSTITUTION: Microorganisms, e.g. Streptomyces diastaticus var amylostaticus (FERM-P No.2499), which belong to the genus Streptomyces and have the ability to produce amylostatin B, C, D, E, or F, are cultured in a nutrient medium aerobically to accumulate the amylostatin B, C, D, E or F, which is collected.
