Abstract
290,014. Monnier, E. March 28, 1927. Jet-wheels; cooling parts; working-fluid supply. -In an internal-combustion turbine wherein stator combustion chambers 5<a> - - 5<d> co-operate with peripheral rotor buckets 14, a centrifugal compressor 1 delivers air past non-return valves into the double casing 2, where it circulates around the explosion chambers and the exhaust passage, passing then through a carburettor into a supercompressor 4 which delivers the charge through valves 12<a> - - 12<d> into the combustion chambers. Two power rotors may be provided, arranged one on either side of the super-compressor 4. Cooling-air is drawn by the compressor 1 through the interior of the power rotors which have helical spokes 28. The inlet valves 12<a> - - 12<d> are rotatably actuated by cam grooves 20<a> in the rotor. Separate groups of explosion chambers may be fed by separate supercompressors.
