Diaphragms; loud-speakers.-The diaphragm 4 of a sound reproducing, amplifying, or like apparatus, and more particularly of a loud-speaker, is supported on one side by a plurality of spaced posts 8, 9, 10, 11<a>, carried, as shown, on independent bridge members 11. 13, 15, which are connected by series of screwed bolts 12, 14, 16 to a base plate 1. The plate 1, which carries the electromagnetic unit 2, is also provided with a plurality of spaced posts 5, 6, 7 adapted to support the rear side of the diaphragm. The front and rear bearing points are preferably made to alternate with one another as shown. The diaphragm, which is shown of square outline, may be provided with slits 17 extending nearly to the centre. One or more horns may be associated with the diaphragm, frame or bridge members. Subsidiary vibratory membranes may also be attached to the frame or bridge members.
