Abstract

289,594. Farrer, W. E. March 1, 1927. Ball and float valves.-A non-return valve for use on sewers has a floating ball C arranged in a chamber B with a dished sump B<1> having an elliptical outlet D but without a liquid seal. The ball, which may be of copper, vulcanite, or rubber, co-operates with a rubber seat E held against a ledge A<1> on the inlet casing by a cam ring E' engaging projections on the casing. The casing A may have a number of side connections at different angles and may be extended upward to form an air inlet. An inspection cover H is fitted over the elliptical part of the outlet.
