Abstract

Induction pipes, fittings for.-An extra-air inlet device comprises an upper casing 1 connected to the induction pipe by a nipple 5 and containing a spring- loaded suction-actuated valve 7 coacting with air inlet ports 11, the valve being provided with a stem 9 carrying a dashpot piston 12 immersed in oil or other liquid contained in a lower casing 3. The nipple 5 may screw directly into the induction pipe or into a flanged plate adapted to be secured between flanges on sections of the induction pipe. The loading spring 14 of the valve is conical and abuts against an. adjusting screw 15. The valve may be faced with vulcanized fibre 8.
