Abstract

218,901. Whytehead, E. H. Oct. 30, 1923. Check lift valves.-Extra air is supplied to the induction pipe 7 of an internal-combustion engine through a valved-controlled conduit 5 which is connected by a pipe 20 to a vacucm gauge 19. The valve 14 is spring-loaded and suction-actuated, the loading being regulated by an adjustable sleeve 9. The valve is guided in the sleeve by wings 15.
