289,481. Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Bradshaw, W. M., and Oman, C.). April 29, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 227,104. Special quantities, registering; power factors, measuring.-A meter such as that described in the parent Specification is provided with means for stopping it when the energy flow reverses. For this purpose the watt-hour meter 1 drives a ratchet wheel 107 which is arranged to slip over a pawl 110 when the meter is running in the normal direction, but to engage it and stop the meter if this reverses. In the latter case an extension on the pawl 110 engages with a gearwheel 30 on a shaft 26 driven from the kilovoltampere-hour meter 2 and stops that likewise. The clockwork driving the recording chart 63 is not interfered with, so that the periods of reversal are marked on the chart.
