Abstract

Couplings, disconnectible.-In a hose coupling member of the kind comprising a coupling ring and a jointing ring both revolubly mounted on one end of a tail member a, the jointing ring is made in two parts, one part e being adapted to carry 'the usual joint ring f and the other part g serving as a gland which when screwed or fitted to the part e retains the complete ring on the sleeve a and also secures a packing ring d in place. The coupling ring h is mounted on the jointing ring and is retained thereon by a flange g<1> on the gland g coacting with a flange e<1> on the ring h. As shown the packing ring d is of U- section moulded rubber and is sprung around a flange b on the sleeve a, but other forms and arrangements of packing rings are described. The inner end of the member a may be formed to extend over the packing ring d so as to protect same and to enhance the flow of fluid through the coupling.
