Joints with yielding outer part compressed. -In a union 1 for tubes 6 having screwthreaded tapered ends 2 adapted to receive the tube ends, and compressor nuts 4, to engage therewith, the angle of taper of the socket ends 2 is slightly less than that of the internal face of the nuts 4. The internal diameter of the union at the middle is greater than that at the ends as shown.
