Abstract

284,948. Jonkhoff, H. W. Aug. 17, 1927. Securing chain-wheels on s h a f t s - An article is mounted universally on a shaft 2 so as to be driven thereby. As shown a chainwheel 11 is secured to a member 3 having a spherical bore supported by a ball member 1 adapted to be driven by a shaft 2 which passes therethrough. The member 3 has slots 9 in which the end 7 of rollers 5 slidably engage, the rollers 5 passing through radial holes in the ball member 1 and having end flanges engaging the shaft. The ball member 1 may be slidable on the shaft. In a modification the member 3 is held rigidly and the shaft 2 is allowed angular play.
