Valve gear.-In bevel gearing for driving overhead cam shafts, a resilient thrust washer F is placed between one or each wheel A, B and its bearing-face. Preferably, the resilient washer is placed between two ball-bearing thrust washers or other hardened steel washers g, h, or between one washer d and the bearing, the rigid washers being pinned to the bearing so that there is no rubbing action on the resilient washer. The resilience of the washer may be limited by the use of a collar &c.
