Cranks, variable-throw.- In variable-throw cycle cranks in which the pedalarm 2 is pivoted to a short. crank-arm 6 on the shaft 7, a spring 11 acting upon an extension 1 of the pedalarm to take the thrust is housed in a casing 4 with a flange ,5 secured by a screw 14 to the crank-arm so as to be readily detachable for cleaning &c. The spring is adjusted by a screw stud 13 in the rear end of the casing and is provided with a tubular cap 9 which bears against an antifriction roller 3 carried by the short extension 1 of the pedal-arm. Extensions 16 of the sides of the casing 4 provide guiding or bearing surfaces for the roller 3 and cap 9.
