Abstract

281,808. Waller, T. Oct. 1, 1926. Exhaust-silencers.-The silencer comprises a tubular casing A enclosing a number of baffle vanes C mounted, so as to be oppositely inclined to one another, on a tube D. The tube carries two perforated discs E, that at the outlet end H being permanently attached, whilst at the inlet end K the disc is secured by a nut F by unscrewing which the silencer can be readily dismantled. The ends of the casing are provided with domed caps B. The baffle vanes on being withdrawn from the casing act as scrapers to clean the inside. The parts are made of steel.
