Sulphuric acid. - In manufacturing sulphuric acid in towers or the like packed with small grains of quartzite, denitration is effected by means of cold sulphurous gases in one of the towers. The gases from the roasting ovens are cooled by being used in an apparatus for concentrating sulphuric acid, and may be passed through cooling or condensing devices to separate acid-containing water prior to use in the denitrating tower.
