Abstract

263,114. Hamon, M. Dec. 16, 1925, [Convention date]. Cooling-towers. - In a transverse current tower the cooling-air is directed laterally through horizontal channels of different lengths, formed by superposed members D, E, F of varying shape, so that the currents encounter only part of the water falling through gridwork arranged around a central shaft G. Separate vertical shafts or flues H may be arranged at the sides of the tower to exhaust part of the saturated air. Preferably sectors with horizontal air channels but without flues H alternate with sectors with flues H but without the air channels. The system may be applied to circular, square or other towers.
