Abstract
281,477. Foote, A. A. June 1, 1927. Road-traffic signals on vehicles.-A direction indicator for use on vehicles comprises a movable member having openings through which light is projected so as to produce an enlarged representation of a selected signal upon a screen. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the movable member consists of a drum segment, the faces e, h, k of which have cut-out portions representing signals. The sector is pivoted at d and is positioned against a spring s by a wire u connected to an actuating wheel x, Fig. 3. Light from a lamp b is projected through the selected opening, and an opening in a plate n, upon a screen o, r. The hand-lever v of the actuating wheel x may control the lighting of the lamp b by contacting with studs 2 in its different positions. A second wire may be provided for actuating a similar apparatus at the rear of the vehicle.
