Abstract

279,162. Holophane, Ltd., (Rolph, T. W.). July 20, 1926. Prisms.-A reflecting prism has an outer surface adapted to reflect the light three or more times and an inner refracting surface to increase the amount of light so reflected. The outer surfaces may be flat, as shown at 5 in Fig. 3, or some or all may be curved as shown in Fig. 8, in which flat surfaces 15 are combined with a circular surface 16. The inner refracting surface may comprise convex surfaces forming a depression 9 opposite the centre of each prism, with or without depressions 10, Fig. 8, opposite the ends of each prism.
