Abstract

278,900. Pneumatic Conveyance & Extraction, Ltd., and Smith, W. A. Nov. 8, 1926. Density separators.-A separator for extracting dust and the like from gases has one or more perforated revolving discs or cones provided with vanes and situated in the path of flow of the gases. The dust laden gas enters the casing a by the inlet o below the baffle plates m, m. At one end of the casing above the baffles and in the mouth of the exhauster pipe c are arranged the discs e, f on a shaft f. Each disc has a number of small holes and has vanes h formed of lengths of angle irons. An annular channel k encircles the discs. When the gas enters the casing part of the dust falls by gravity into the collector b and part is thrown back by the discs and vanes while the clean gas passes through the pipe c. The channel k may be provided with a dust outlet pipe extending to the collector b or to a separate collector. In a modification conical discs are employed.
