Abstract

277,894. Colchester, A. E. April 30, 1927. Valves.-Inlet and exhaust are controlled by a piston valve 49 sliding within a fixed sleeve 38, and a sleeve valve 42 sliding in the space between the fixed sleeve and the valve casing. The piston valve 49 uncovers ports 50 in the fixed sleeve to allow admission from the inlet pipe 36. Exhaust occurs through a port 29 when uncovered by the sleeve valve 42, the piston valve then closing the ports 50. The two valves are reciprocated from cranks 25 and 26, the valve rods 48 and 34 sliding one within the other.
