Abstract
277,387. Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd., and Goodyear, C. E. Oct. 30, 1926. Disc wheels.-In wheels of the kind comprising two metal stampings 1, 2 joined at the mid-plane of the wheel, the hub is reinforced by a pair of metal cups 5, 6 which are shaped at the outer periphery to conform, transversely and circumferentially, with the profile of the wheel parts 1, 2, between one or more pairs of spokes. In the construction shown, the reinforcements 5, 6 are formed with abutting flanged edges 5a, 6a and 5b, 6b, ferrules 12 being fitted at the punchedout portions 10a forming the usual bolt-holes 11. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the portions 10a are arranged between the ferrules 12 and the inturned portions 11a of the sheaves 1, 2 into which sleeves 14 are expanded. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the ferrules 12 are fitted between the parts 10a, 11a.
