277,310. Karlstr÷m, A. M. R. Sept. 7, 1926, [Convention date]. Pulp, recovering. - In the recovery of fibres from liquids, particularly applicable to the treatment of the backwaters of cellulose., paper, and wood grinding mills, liquid containing fibres mixed with air or gas is directed upwardy by a pipe 4 having widened mouth 5 in a tank 1 so that the fibres with the aid of adhering air or gas bubbles are lifted and collected in the upper portion of the tank while the clarified liquid is discharged from the lower portion of the tank. The fibre mass 8 is withdrawn by a suction pump through a pipe 6 having a regulating valve 7. The discharge end 5 may have a laterally extending flange or shoulder 51. The apparatus may be combined with a deposition tank for such heavier fibres as sink to the bottom.
