Abstract
276,329. Spiess, G. Aug. 18, 1926, [Convention date]. Folding paper. In a cross-folding machine in which buckling folders are employed and in which each sheet after leaving the first folder 4, Fig. 2, passes between guides to a rule 19 directing the sheet at right-angles to its former path, portions of the guides are pivotally mounted so as to permit of access to sheets which become jammed in the guides. The sheet is delivered from the folder 4 by feed-rollers 6, 7 between guides 8, 9, the latter of which are connected at one end by a bracket 10 and at the other end are attached to a bracket 12, Fig. 3, pivoted at 13 to the machine framing 1. When in their operative positions, the guides 9 are secured by a bolt passing through the bracket 10 and a bracket 11 on the framing 1. The second part of the guides is formed by a fixed plate 22 and a plate 28 pivoted at 24 to a bracket 23 attached to the rule 19. Holes 26 in the bracket 23 and plate 28 respectively, coincide when the plate 28 is in its operative position, and serve to receive a securing bolt.
