Abstract

Block paving.-Relates to rubber-block paving of the type in which the blocks have intercommunicating undercut longitudinal and transverse channels in their under surfaces to key the blocks to the concrete foundation. According to the invention, one longitudinal channel 7 and two transverse channels 4 form three bifurcated legs 5, see plan Fig. 1, of which the intermediate one x is non-central with respect to the others. The blocks are united by tongues and grooves 9, 8 formed in the side faces of the blocks and by metal rods passing through holes 10 on the bifurcated legs. Beads y are provided to contract the base openings 4. The blocks may be V-shaped in plan as shown in Fig. 4, the longitudinal openings being thereby inclined to the direction of traffic. Such V-shaped blocks may be combined with filling blocks 13, 14 of wood or rubber, as shown in Fig. 9.
