Extincteurs; portable pressure reservoirs.- In an extinguisher of the kind in which pressure is supplied by a bottle or capsule of liquid gas, the bottle g is suspended in an inverted position in the liquid within the container a by means of a push-rod d. The outlet of the bottle. is near the bottom of the extinguisher, and is opened by a striker h when the rod d is forced in. The rod d is in two parts screwed together, the upper part being guided in a stuffing box in the cover c, and the lower part e carrying a cup f into which the base of the bottle g screws. Thus the part e may be detached and be replaced by an ordinary striker for an acid bottle or gas generating cartridge.
