Abstract

13,720. Guignet, L. A. July 17, 1912, [Convention date]. Extincteurs.-Relates chiefly to the means for breaking the acid-bottle, and to the dischargepipe and outlet. The acid-bottle j is supported in a vertical position by wings k fixed to the wall of the container, and is broken by means of a vertical knife l carried by a spring-pressed plunger m, which passes through a dished part p of the container. The knife l carries a finger r, which, when the plunger m is operated, breaks a capsule s, thus opening communication through a casing f, provided with a gauze strainer f<3>, to a pipe g leading to a pivoted discharge-pipe i. The discharge-pipe i is normally located in a channel a<3> in the side of the container, and is provided with a stiff joint h, so that it can be set in any required direction. A filling-stopper c screws into the dished bottom a<2> of the extincteur, and is provided with a cork pad c to support the bottle j. Hinged handles u serve as feet when the apparatus is inverted for filling.
