Abstract

Aromatizing air and gases; cartridges; releasing fumigants from. - Perfumes to be diseminated into the air have as a carrying substance compressed or liquefied gas instead of alcohol as usual. The gas, before compression, is passed through a chamber provided with baffles and charged with liquid or pulverulent perfume. A container for the perfumed gas or liquid consists of a cartridge a closed by a disc b adapted to be perforated by a hollow needle d carried by the nozzle c which screws on to the neck of the cartridge and is fitted with packing washers g, i to make tight joints. The outlet passage e of the nozzle c opens on a coni. cal valve surface k coacting with a cap h having a central opening j. The cap h serves as a valve and, since the passages e, j are not in line, serves also to break up the issuing jet of gas. In a modification, the closure b of the cartridge a is replaced by a spring-actuated valve, and the needle d is replaced by a finger adapted to hold the valve open. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) states also that a small quantity of perfume may be placed in the cartridge which is then charged with compressed or liquified carbonic acid gas. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
