Direct gas pressure apparatus, non- automatic. -In a pocket atomizer for perfumes, pharmaceutical preparations, &c. the liquid is ejected from a container and atomized by means of compressed gas stored in a cartridge. Fig. 1 shows a cylindrical container 1 the bottom of which is provided with a passage 4 opening into a recess 5 in the lower part of the body, and communicating with an axial tube 3. An axially perforated member 6 screws into the recess 5 and carries the gas cartridge 9. A hollow needle for perforating a sealing disc 12 passes through packing 10 and communicates with the axial passage 7 which may be closed by a vulcanite plug 8. To the upper end of the chamber 1 is screwed a cap 13 closed internally by a disc 14 through which passes a tube 15 communicating with the tube 3 and a second tube 16 the lower end of which lies in a groove in the disc 14 while the upper end enters a conical recess leading to a spraying orifice 17. In use the member 6 is first unscrewed until gas is delivered through the outlet 17 and then the apparatus tilted to admit liquid to the tube 16 the position of which is indicated by an external mark on the apparatus. Fig. 3 shows a form comprising a cylindrical body 18 divided by walls 19, 20 into compartments 18', 18<2> the upper of which contains the gas cartridge 9 on the end of which is screwed a cap 6 containing a rubber ring through which passes a valve 23 which is normally held closed by a spring blade 24 but may be opened by a push button 25. Between the walls 19, 20 which are perforated, at 19<1>, 20<1> is a tube 26 provided with a spray nozzle 27 screwed into the wall of the body 18. A tube 28 loosely fitting the tube 26 passes through the hole 20<1> into the liquid chamber 18<2> and is provided at its lower end with a strainer 29.
