Abstract
275,007. White, A. E., (Potter, Inc., L.). July 6, 1926. Ironing-machines with rollers rotating against concave surfaces; returning work to the front of ironing-machines.-The roller 24 is supported by brackets 25, 26 that are so shaped that they lie outside the path of the material being ironed. The inner ends of the brackets are formed as racks which engage pinions 51 carried on the roller shaft 29 by friction discs 54 so that on switching the motor in or out, the roller is moved into or out of contact with the bed 22. A guard rod 60, Fig. 6, is provided which, when rocked by the operator's hand &c., switches out the motor. The clothes &c. are fed to the machine over a table 34 and discharged to the front by trays 31, 32. A thermometer 69 is provided and the whole apparatus may be pivoted to fold into a cabinet.
