446,507. Ironing-machines. DEWHURST, F., Franklen, Princes Gardens, Peterborough, and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd., Westwood Works, Peterborough. Oct. 25, 1934, No. 30651. [Class 138 (ii)] The roller 10 of a Decoudun is journalled in bell-crank levers 6 pivoted at 7 and having counterweights 8 suspended therefrom by flexible connections 9. The flexible members are engaged by rollers 14 mounted on arms 13 which are pivoted on levers 12 and are acted on by adjustable stops 16 thereon when the level 12 are drawn forward by a rod 15 under con. trol of the operator whereby the roller may be raised from its bed. Rollers may be provided on both sides of the flexible members whereby on movement of the rod 15 in the opposite direction, the pressure of the ironing- roller on its bed may be increased. The device may also be applied to the tensioning roller of the conveying bands of multiple roller machines.
