Abstract
410,522. Ironing machines. DEWHURST, F., Westwood Works, Peterborough, and BAKER PERKINS, Ltd., Hythe Road, Willesden, London. Nov. 24, 1932, No. 33231. [Class 138 (ii).] Means for drying the padding of the roller of a Decoudun machine comprise a hood 11 closed at its ends and connected to a source of suction. The mouth of the hood, which may be provided with a perforated plate, covers a portion of the padding not in contact with the bed, the padding being spaced slightly from the perforated shell of the roller by resting on wire mesh or other fabric located in a longitudinally extending annular space on the roller surface. The hood may be heated at one or both sides and is removably positioned with respect to the roller as by being carried on slides in a vertical guideway or on arms pivoted near the feed side of the roller.
