[Class 78 (i).] The tension of the endless aprons or feed tapes 25 of an ironing-machine which pass around a guide roller 24 carried by one arm 26 of a bell-crank lever pivoted at 27 is controlled jointly by springs or weights 30 acting on the other arm 28 of the bell-crank lever and a manually-controlled fluid-pressure operated piston working in a single-acting cylinder 33. The piston rod is connected to the arm 28 of the bell-crank lever and the fluid-pressure acts in opposition to the springs or weights.
