Abstract

254,581. British-American Laundry Machinery Co. Ltd., (American Laundry Machinery Co.). Oct. 30, 1925. rotary containers; air, controlling circulation of.-Apparatus for drying linen &c. of the kind including a perforate tumbler 3 through which hot air is continuously circulated by a fan 6 is provided with an air filtering screen 7 for collecting lint &c. which is removed from the screen and conveyed 'to a container 27 by felt wipers 26 which are adjustably secured to endless chains 25. The chains are driven through the fan-shaft 14, worm-gearing 18, 19 and chain 21 from the fan motor 5a. The container 27 is provided with a hinged base having an external finger that is adapted, upon a predetermined weight of lint collecting in the container, to complete an electric circuit through a lamp so as to warn the attendant that the container is full. Any further increase in the weight of the lint deposited in the container results in the finger cutting out the electric circuits to the fan and tumbler motors.
